This service provides advanced tools (compare with simple options for reporting in "Customisation" and "Filtration" menus) for managing automatically generated I-Robot reports. The service arranges complex sources for tracing of new additions, selecting form of reports, its delivery and storage.The first option of the Report's Manager menu is the check-box turning on/off the service at all. If necessary, the service can be temporarily suspended. If this option is off or its parameters are not configured, the customisation and filtering services generate reports on their own and deliver them to the user (if this has been set up).
From the Report's Manager menu a user can specify:
1) the scheme of generating reports on new additions to the database;
2) the form of the reports;
3) periodicity of reports;
4) the way of delivery of reports to the user.Sources Used to Generate the Report
The report can include all new additions to the database or only those selected using the customisation (instructions) and/or filtration (instructions) services. Customisation allows for inclusion of all new additions to the series selected by user from the whole database (open). Filtration service sets inclusion of new additions following the author names, classifier codes or key words specified by the user (open). Forth source of data for the report is the "new additions to the Socionet series list" that allows to trace when new series appear in RePEc/Socionet. A user can specify any combination from these four sources.Report Form
The I-Robot can prepare reports in short, full or customised forms. The short HTML-form report includes only the list of titles and authors of relevant publications, as well as links to the complete description of the publication on main RePEc "mirrors" (for Russian-language publications, the link is provided only to Socionet). The full TXT-form report presents all available bibliographic information for all publications included. Third option - customised form - allows to build a report by some template. A template (to build the report in specific form) can be selected from a list of default templates and/or created/uploaded by user through "Export" menu.In both short and full reports, the order of publications is as follows: first, publications selected following the customisation profile, then those selected using the filtration parameters, the last goes the complete list of all new additions. The I-Robot eliminates all duplicates (records with the same handle).
Periodicity of Reports
User should specify the time interval between the reports or the number of new records to be accumulated before the report preparation starts: daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, more than 10 publications, more than 20, more than 30, more than 40, more than 50, more than 100.Report Delivery/Storage
When the report is ready,a) if the appropriate box is not selected, the system does not deliver it to the user.
In this case only current versions of the report are stored, they can be viewed using the "View all current reports" option in the SPZ main menu;b) the system can deliver reports to the user by e-mail;
c) the system can place the report in a specific series created in the user’s personal zone (this should be "secondary" type series).
To save the I-Robot Report Manager parameters, press the "Save Configuration" button. As soon as the system acknowledges the completion of the saving process, you can create a trial report by clicking the link "Create a trial report".
